Our 6th , 7th and 8th grade teacher and principal is Mr. John Schlavensky. He has been teaching at St. John's in Fox Lake for 11 years. He feels very privileged to be able to teach the children about God's Word and their need for a Savior.
Mr. Schlavensky grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he attended Mt. Olive Lutheran grade school. His high school years were spent at Fox Valley Lutheran. From there he went to Dr. Martin Luther College (now Martin Luther College) in New Ulm, Minnesota, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Science and Education.
Emmaus Lutheran School in Phoenix, Arizona, was his first call to be the principal and 7th -8th grade teacher. He was blessed with 10 faithful years of teaching upon accepting a call to Fox Lake where he is currently serving.
Mr. Schlavensky and his wife, Lori, have three children. Their daughter graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac. They also have two sons attending St. John's. They both are very proud of their school and love their teachers!
As for hobbies, Mr. Schlavensky loves fishing and all kinds of sports! He plays a variety of games in his classroom to enhance learning. He use the power point for visual learning especially for History class, his favorite subject.
